Watsons Bay Pilot Station

NSW Roads + Maritime has called for expressions of interest for the future use of the Pilot Station at Gibsons Beach.

An active residents group has successfully ensured that community views have been taken into account in the NSW Government's considerations. Vaucluse MP Gabrielle Upton MLA, has also been active in advocating a community-friendly development.

One of the key proposals for the Pilot Station comes from the Boating Industry Association of NSW for the use of the facility as a "Community-based Boating Safety Education Centre." The proposal embodies strong community elements and specifically notes that "Activities will be limited to not-for-profit, community-based safety organisations."

WBA will be liaising with major stakeholders to ensure local residents' interests are injected into the decision-making process.
